Strength for the Weary ~ Sandy Domelle

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we

faint not.

So often, we can let ourselves become weary because we are so focused on all that is going

on in our lives that we get sidetracked by the Devil. Some things that cause us to become

weary are health issues, financial struggles, family drama, and sometimes, it's just plain old

life getting the best of us. I believe the Devil uses this tactic on us so that we don't

accomplish all we need to do. When we are weary, we tend to complain and become a little

self-centered because of how it affects us.

As I read the verse above, I had a few thoughts.

It's easy to become weary if we are living the Christian life in the flesh rather than in

the Spirit. I don't know about you, but my flesh starts nagging at me the minute I wake up.

It's a daily battle to defeat the flesh, but the sooner in the day you spend time with God, the

sooner you can ask Him to help you defeat the flesh. It's not a one-and-done deal, but it

sometimes occurs several times a day. It's a daily battle we fight, but we must conquer the

flesh and win.

To "not be weary" means we must keep pressing on and not give in to the flesh

because we are weary and tired. It's so easy to become weary when fighting battles. The

Devil knows if he can wear us down, he will get the victory. Pressing on takes determination.

Determination is more likely to occur when we have established a routine. That's why it's so

important to develop and maintain a daily routine for your walk with God.

Due season is around the corner, but remember that not everyone's due season falls

within the same time frame. The Devil will do everything he can to get you to become

overwhelmed and weary and to stop before "due season" comes so you won't reap. God

doesn't give an exact time to our due season, so don't get discouraged when results don't

happen immediately. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves it's a new day, and we are

getting closer.

Decide today YOU WILL NOT let the Devil win! The Devil wants to win, but do you have a

greater desire to beat him? This is the time when we dig deep and find every ounce of

determination we have, using it to fight. Don't allow him to roll right over you, but get up and

fight with all you have!

Be determined that you will reap all you can. If you're like me, I don't want to reap just a

little; I want ALL that God has for me.

Remember this today: God loves every one of His children. He doesn't want us to feel weary

and overwhelmed. Keep pressing on so that you may reap the blessings He has in store for

you.
