Peace of God - Christy Collins

Recently, I was reminded of Philippians 4:8...again. It's not like I don't know what I'm supposed to think about and avoid thinking about, but here we are...again. I have a very active imagination and often find myself imagining in great detail negative scenarios that COULD become reality but have not. Reading through the chapter, something popped out at me that I hadn't noticed before, which is that verse 7 mentions "the peace of God," and verse 9, "the God of peace." In the midst of everything happening in the world and in my world, the God of peace offers me the peace of God. To avoid worry, I simply need to submit my requests to God in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving and direct my thoughts to what is virtuous and praiseworthy...again.

Philippians 4:6-9 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you."
