"Don't Forget Jesus" - Ashley Carlisle
As we were traveling back from a Youth Conference in Tennessee, I looked out my window and saw a sign posted on a tree that said, “Don’t forget Jesus.” When I saw that sign, I thought to myself how many times do I forget about Jesus. Jeremiah 2:32 says, “Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.” We all get so busy in our everyday lives that we sometimes forget about Jesus. The one who loves us enough to die for us, the one who created us, the one who has blessed us, the one who gave us a family, the one who has done so much for us. We take Jesus for granted and often put everything or everyone above Him. Seeing that sign on the tree helped me to realize that I needed to make sure that I do not forget about Jesus and what He has done for me. I need to always put the Lord first and do more for Him. The Lord wants to hear from us. He desires to have a relationship with us. We should want to draw closer to Him. James 4:8 says, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” We are not promised our next breath, so we should strive to serve the Lord while we can. We should make each day a day of remembering the Lord, and not a day of forgetting Him. Don’t get too busy! Make sure that you “Don’t forget Jesus.”
